Flowers

I have loved flowers since I was a small child and spent countless hours picking and arranging them in the cottage style play house my father built for me and my sister in North Carolina.  As a young college student going to school in Atlanta, Georgia, one of my favorite things to do was to ride out into the countryside on weekends and pick wildflowers to brighten our dorm room. As an adult I began painting long before I picked up a paint brush when I developed an eye for capturing the beauty of my garden on film by deliberately shooting out of focus in order to create the feel of a Monet or Renoir. Photographing and exploring Monet’s garden in Giverny, France influenced me to pick up a paint brush and thus began my passion for painting on canvas.
